Odette Barry is a storyteller who loves nothing more than helping industry disrupters share their stories - on stages, in books, and through media. As a publicist, PR mentor, and founder of Odette & Co, a micro PR agency based in Byron Bay, she specialises in amplifying the visibility of purpose-driven leaders.
Odette brings extensive industry expertise. with a background in communications for Westpac, the Australian Physiotherapy Association, TAFE NSW, and Women’s Fitness.
Since founding Odette & Co in 2015, she has collaborated with social entrepreneurs tackling issues like refugee employment, birth reform, homelessness, consumerism, and climate leadership.
Odette also hosts the Hack Your Own PR podcast, where she interviews top journalists and media professionals, demystifying the publicity process.
Six years ago, she created courses to empower founders to secure their own media coverage—bridging the gap for startups that can't afford a publicist early on. To date, she has taught over 5,000 founders through her podcast and online programs, including Authority Brand, Meet The Media, and Hack Your Own PR.
She gets out of bed to help leaders create impact and leave a lasting, positive legacy.

Her unrelenting commitment played a pivotal role in growing the Australian Birth Stories podcast audience from 8 million to 14 million downloads during the campaign. Emm has led O&C PR campaigns across climate leadership, disability, fashion, sexual assault survivors, youth homelessness, and neuro-inclusion, with each of the campaigns exceeding our client’s expectations.
Emm is particularly adept at switching between hosting media events, to wrangling business press through to briefing clients for breakfast TV.
Tessa Ogle, Senior Publicist
Tessa has taken a step away from the newsdesk, and has brought a deep love of story and strategic thinking to every project she touches.
From newsroom floors to fashion front rows, Tessa’s career spans The Age, The Conversation, Harper’s BAZAAR, Esquire, Marie Claire and ELLE. Most recently, she re-launched Cosmopolitan’s print magazine as Editor in Chief.
At O&C, Tessa has joined us as senior publicist, leading our change makers through editorial impact. She works across projects in workplace policy reform and leadership, employment best practice, driving change in how we support parents and prioritise their mental health, shifting how Australians navigate the last stage of life, advancing neuroinclusivity and endometriosis support, championing the queer creative community and exploring circularity projects.
Penny Potter, Publicist
A former journalist and media specialist, Penny draws on her lived experience as a parent navigating the disability and education systems. She is passionate about amplifying voices that deserve to be heard and uses her storytelling skills to drive impact-led campaigns and advocate for compassionate, inclusive systems.
Penny believes media is at its best when it prioritises honesty, curiosity and deep listening, especially in disability and family narratives.
Penny is raising two beautiful children while also snagging headlines across topics including grief and baby loss, sexual violence, new parent mental health, the last stages of life, youth homelessness, community fundraising, financial equity and inclusive employment.
Asha Cooper, Content Strategist & Partnerships
Asha is a psychology graduate, digital creator, and STEM educator who brings a sharp eye for storytelling and a deep commitment to impact-driven work.
She leads content strategy and partnerships at O&C, supporting clients across legal education for survivors, end-of-life care, workplace reform, and Indigenous cultural education. With a background in inclusive education and community programs like Ocean Heroes and Camp Quality, Asha’s work is grounded in empathy and accessibility.
As a content creator, she’s partnered with brands like Weet-Bix, Visa, and QV, but her superpower lies in translating complex ideas into scroll-stopping content. She’s especially passionate about helping young people in regional areas see what's possible when diverse stories are visible.
